44 weeks!

After a wonderful weekend in Arizona, we are all dealing with some illness, which is Sad. So let’s think about good baby things!
  • Hanna Lu enjoyed her biggest party ever this past weekend and went hard...with no chance of her sleeping like she normally does, we just let her go with it and she ended up dozing in the arms of a guest…and slept through until morning!
  • Is battling her first stomach bug, pretty well at that. We’ve gotten her down to just milk and pedialyte and she seemed to be fine after Sunday, besides a few challenging diapers, but just tonight she yakked all over me sooooooo…we’re waiting to get the bug ourselves, to be honest, which makes this kind of a yucky week but hopefully it won’t last long.
  • Ate a pickle spear at the party this weekend, which we thought caused the tummy issues, but we realized that wasn’t the case. She certainly loved that pickle.
  • Is all over our apartment – we decided this week that we need to get serious about baby-proofing this place.
On the go!
  • Is so much fun and we really hope she feels better soon.

Baby's first mittens.

Today was nowhere near as epic as last Saturday.
Baby is still recuperating and it was cold but we rallied for a late afternoon walk to CVS. Here's to sleep that's a bit better than last night's!

First Halloween!

Hanna Lu spent her first Halloween at home with her daddy, recuperating from her cold which is still hanging around.
We had some time dressing up as the crazy monkey that she is and then hopefully she'll get some solid rest tonight and be on the road to an even more solid recovery.
Happy Halloween folks!

Run Daddy, run!

To cap off an amazing visit with Rebecca, we spent the first part of today cheering on my sweet husband through 26.2 miles.
Look at that cool jacket he snagged post-race!
Despite being sick he rocked this marathon and Hanna Lu and I {& a bunch of other people} are immensely proud of this tough man; we love you sweetie/daddy!

Great pumpkins!

Rebecca and I took baby Lu to get a pumpkin today.
It was a beautiful day and our little girl loved the orange everywhere.
And the feel of the pumpkins.
Mostly, though, she really loved the llama {or alpaca?}.
What a gorgeous day!xoxo, natty ♥

Something new.

We started a new daycare this week because Hanna's old daycare had to close for some random but not bad reasons. The baby seems pretty OK with her new set-up but the big issue for us is that we had to provide our own sleeping arrangement...which we didn't know until our first day.
So after a quickish trip to Ikea yesterday and some efficient building {thanks Daddy!} little Lu Lu has her very own and very first crib. The change hasn't seemed to disturb her sleep too much but it hasn't been great this week thanks to returning from our California vacation. Our computers {both of them} are having some issues so hopefully we can get some pictures of that experience posted soon too.

A new snack.

Up on our roof today we let baby try some rice cereal.
We're going to start her on big chunks of real food in a few weeks {"Baby Led Weaning" in case you're curious...that "method" doesn't really preach/promote the rice cereal route but we had some and the doctor mentioned it as an option so oh well} but we're giving this stuff a go for now.

Baby Lu was very eager to have more and more but let it all fall out of her mouth as soon as she got it; kind of hilarious and really messy!
Maybe if it's watered down less {there was more milk to rice cereal} she'll get in more of it but it was fun to see her try something new. Honestly, the spoon was the biggest attraction to her and she did a great job of holding and sucking on it.
"Lemme have this spoon."
We love this funny baby!

Her second home.

Here's Hanna Lu with Guinness as her mom and dad were cleaning up and clearing out some of the last bits of the apartment she came home to from the hospital.
A temporary solution.
It's sad to leave but very nice to move onto our high-rise in Silver Spring! Thank you  DC apartment for two years of good and really exciting times!

Travels.

Baby had her second metro ride this morning.

She looks concerned; though tired she stayed awake the whole ride; the sounds and smells were all new to her since she slept through her first public transportation last weekend.

We arrived safely in DC and took the escalator up to the street and then she slept!

Beach Babe.

We are in the middle of this big June-away-from-DC-travel-a-thon and loving each day. We had a lovely day today - Hanna Lu went to the beach for the first time and visited two restaurants {she was super good in both!}.

I thought it would be nice to let our daughter's feet touch the water. In case you're not familiar with how the Pacific Ocean feels in our neck of the woods, it's COLD. And the little babe showed no reaction to the temperature.
But she sure was cute with her rolled up pants and sandy feet. I can't wait for the days when she's toddling around in the sand and surf.
THOSE LEGS!
An early Happy Father's Day to Mike and our two dads...we love you all immensely and are so grateful for all of your wonderful and much-appreciated dad qualities!

Blossoms.

We ventured down to the cherry blossoms last week.
Pretty, but where's the pink?
The trees were pretty but the blossoms seemed way less pink than they were last year; it could've just been me.
"Yawn".
It was a short {& muggy, yuck} visit but we got a few pictures for posterity's sake...we were actually there!
Next year we should be able to stay down there a bit longer, hopefully!
